To take advantage of what is on offer you will need to a competent indoor top rope climber already - you will need to be able to put on harness, tie in to the rope and belay a climber.

  • An intro to “trad” (traditional) climbing equipment

  • Movement skills and route reading on real rock

  • The principles of good anchors

  • An intro to building belays

  • Personal abseiling

Who is the Ready To Rock course for?

These courses are ideal for novice climbing club members, students, parents, indoor climbers ready to step outside, and those who may have already tried climbing outdoors but would like the chance to review or formalise their knowledge with the help of a highly experienced and professional instructor

These courses can be a good precursor for people considering the Rock Climbing Instructor award training, and we also welcome enquires from RCI trainees who would like to observe/assist with session delivery as part of their consolidation phase.

If you have your own harness, helmet, climbing shoes and belay plate, please bring these with you - we prefer that everyone learns with their own kit. If you don't have one or any of these, please contact us in advance.
